How have you handled that situation in the past? Today, Richard Hamlet shares from Hebrews 2:1-3 and talks about the dangers of drifting away from the truth and the power of salvation that’s available to everyone.

When you were a kid, do you remember what you wanted to be when you grew up? Well, if you were a boy, chances are you wanted to be a fireman or policeman, something heroic. At least they used to be viewed as heroic. Lately, it seems our police officers are under attack. Both verbally and physically. Here at Ministry in the Marketplace, we still view our public servants as heroes and we are honored to have in the studio, Lt. Kevin McKenzie with the Olive Branch Mississippi Police Department. In 2010, Lt. McKenzie started a non-profit organization called, Badge of Faith Police Ministries. He’s using his calling as a police officer, to not only make an impact on his community but also in Central America. Click on the audio bar below for the full story.

It’s very easy to take our everyday blessings here in America for granted. From the cars we drive, to the clothes we wear, to the roof over our heads. On a recent missions trip, our guest Lt. McKenzie of Badge of Faith Police Ministry, saw how an everyday piece of police equipment was an extraordinary gift to an officer in Central America.
If you’re the kind of person who doesn’t miss the ten o’clock news every night, then you know what’s currently going on in our world today. Abortions are rising, Christians are being martyred, and sexual immorality is becoming the norm. We as Christians can’t sit still and do nothing. We are all given a purpose. That purpose is to share the hope, healing, and forgiveness that is only found in Jesus Christ. Today, Richard Hamlet shares from 1 Thessalonians 4:16.

Hollywood is the entertainment capital of the world. Things have certainly changed a lot since Thomas Edison invented the motion picture industry. You might say that the moral compass of most in Hollywood is severely challenged, if not broken. Television has followed suite and the internet… Well, that’s a whole different ballgame. Evey month, more people are searching the internet for pornography than they are Netflix, Amazon, and Twitter combined. Today’s guest is the Executive Director of Citizens for Community Values in Memphis, TN. Over the years, Russ White has made it his mission to bring hope and healing to people who have been caught up in worldly sin.

You know, a lot of people base their lives on their careers, their families, their kids, and even grandkids. Before they know it, retirement approaches. And then what? Well, for Russ White, after a lengthy successful career as an attorney, the lord had other plans in mind. Maybe you’re in a place where you know that God isn’t through working in your life. In fact, if you’re reading this, then there’s a pretty good chance that you fall into that category. As believer’s in Christ, God is constantly working in our lives and wants us to be faithful to Him in service. So at the “end of Russ’s career,” God decided to use him in a different way. Luke 24:13, talks about two men who were traveling down the road from Jerusalem to Emmaus. The talk of the town was Jesus’s recent death and resurrection. There was a lot of confusion and people were distressed. And then, He showed up. Jesus was right there with them. But they didn’t recognize Him. It’s an incredible reminder of God’s presence in our lives when we don’t realize he’s there. Today, Richard Hamlet breaks down Luke 24:13.

Our guest this week, grew up in the projects of Memphis, TN. Surrounded by crime and faced with devastating situations on a daily basis. But there was something about Charlie Caswell that set him apart from the negative influences in his life. When he was a teenager, a mentor gave him some advice. In fact, he challenged him to make a difference in his community. So instead of choosing a life of crime, he started a mobile detailing business out of the trunk of his car. He had no idea that that would one day lead to him becoming a pastor; which would one day lead to him starting a non-profit called, The 3V Leader Program. This program works with and inspires young teenagers, with similar backgrounds as his, to become valuable leaders in their community.
Wondering why certain things happen the way that they do is something that we can all relate to. And if you have small children, then the question “why?” is often abused. Questions like, “why is the sky blue?” or, “why do we park on driveways and drive on parkways?” The truth is, we’re not going to have all of the answers. In fact, as human beings, it’s impossible for our minds to comprehend God’s ultimate plan for our lives. Today, Richard Hamlet shares from Joel 2:25 and talks about how God is working to bring transformation in the lives of His people.

We’ve all heard the term “climbing the corporate ladder.” Perhaps you know someone who’s on that ladder. In fact, it may be you. Along the way, there should be more money, more success, and of course a lot more responsibility. Today’s guest reminds us that we also need to remember, as we’re climbing that ladder, to invest in people. It is the only thing that will guarantee true success. Jeremy Park is the President of City Current in Memphis, TN. This organization teaches those in the business community to love God, love people, and make disciples.
If you’re reading this, then chances are you’ve seen your fair share of ups and downs in life. It’s safe to say that we all have. Although, a lot of people put on a smile, act like they have it all together, and that absolutely nothing bad has ever happened to them… Guess what, that’s not true. Here’s the good news… The Bible says, that there is hope in Jesus Christ. All we have to do is trust. The Prophet Isaiah said it best in Isaiah 61:1-3. Today, Richard Hamlet shares from Isaiah 61 and talks about the transforming power of God.
