When the Israelites concluded 40 years of wandering in the wilderness, new day dawned with Joshua as God’s appointed leader for their next generation. The nation had been under God’s judgment because of the unbelief of 10 of the spies who scouted out the promised land. The new day began as Joshua led them across the Jordan River into the promised land.
In just a few days week will enter a new year. A year with new opportunities to go forward into new spiritual lands within our marketplace. The new year is a new day in God’s promises. Entering the promised land was not a vacation. Joshua sought the Lord’s guidance and followed His instructions. Tune in as Richard L. Hamlet examines Joshua 5:5-10 in regard to new directions for the new year and conquering new spiritual lands in our marketplaces.
Real Time in the Marketplace
Our guest is Ginger Hamlet, wife of our host, Richard L. Hamlet. Together Richard and Ginger co-founded Ministry Outreach Foundation in 2003 as the Richard L. Hamlet Evangelistic Association. Since that time, MOF has grown into a holistic relief and development organization with global impact. Much of MOF’s ministry is done in the marketplace, outside the church walls, yet in partnership with churches and missional organizations around the world.
Ministry in the marketplace, in essence, is a person using their ability and skills to advance the Kingdom of God in their sphere of influence. Ginger does just this, especially as she travels internationally with Richard. Tune in to hear what she is doing.
Real World Impact
Poverty is a serious problem in the U.S. In fact, Memphis was recently named one of the poorest cities in America with nearly 27% of the population living at or below the poverty level. Eric Watkins, Housing Care Coordinator for MOF, serves as the “go-to-guy” on several MOF properties. Tune in as Eric explains how money is not the answer to solving this problem.
