The world around us is full of deceit. Whether you realize it or not. I’m talking about things that look and seem enticing, but in the end will lead to complete destruction. You see, this is the same with anti-gospel influences in the marketplace and even the world today. In I John 4:1-3, the Bible warns us to take notice of these dangerous voices. Click on the audio link below as Richard Hamlet breaks it all down.
Real Time in the Marketplace
Today, our Ministry in the Marketplace spotlight shines on the Executive Director of a ministry called S.O.S., which stands for Service Over Self. His name is Philip Walkley. Philip first got involved with S.O.S. back in 1998. Their mission is to serve in lower income communities and to offer home repairs to people who can’t afford them. It’s a way to demonstrate the love of Christ, while at the same time playing a role in developing the character of young men and women. Every summer, S.O.S. invites young people from across America to a camp, which is designated to teach them how to repair roofs, replace drywall, and even unclog a toilet. Once they are trained, they are sent out into the community to put their new found skills to work. All in the name of Jesus.
Real World Impact
On today’s Real World Impact segment, we’ll catch up with a guy who’s life has been greatly effected by the ministry of S.O.S. Little did he know that he would be lead, not only down his career path but ultimately to his dreams, just by simply following God’s call.
