A Fresh Start

Nov 10th, 2024

What would it feel like to have a fresh start in life? Maybe you’ve been through significant hardship and you just want to start over… II Corinthians 5:17 says, “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old is gone; a new life has begun!” Today, on Ministry in the Marketplace, we’ll look into the faithfulness of Noah and how he felt when God called him to build the ark. As soon as we put our faith and trust in Jesus, he makes all things new.

Real Time in the Marketplace

Samantha GustafsonSo picture this, you have an incredible job, a loving family, a nice home, God has blessed you financially, you spend your afternoons playing with your kids and taking yearly vacations to the beach when suddenly, your whole world is turned upside down. The dreaded news is cancer… So many of us think that it won’t happen to us. That’s what today’s guest thought until her husband was diagnosed and lost his battle to melanoma skin cancer. At the time, Samantha Gustafson had no idea how to cope with her husbands passing, so she decided to write down her feelings, which would later become her book entitled “The Prayer of a Single Mom.” In this book, Samantha takes us through her journey of sorrow and heartache and how the only hope that she has found has been through Jesus Christ. Jesus said, in John 16:33, “I have told you this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth, you will have many trials and sorrows but take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
