Just Call on His Name

Nov 10th, 2024

Do you ever feel like no matter how hard you work, it’s just not quite good enough? Maybe it’s with your family, relationships, marriage, or finances. When it comes to spending eternity with Jesus, aren’t you glad that you don’t have to work for it? Ephesians 2:8 says, “For it is by grace that you are saved, through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is a gift of God.” And that’s just one example. Today, Richard Hamlet shares from Romans 10:13 that says, “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Real Time in the Marketplace

Dr. Daniel Dong Won Lee, Global Mission Church

Today, our ministry in the marketplace spotlight travels to Seoul South Korea, where Rev. Hamlet met up with some of MOF’s ministry partners. While he was in Seoul, he had the privilege of meeting with the Pastor of one of the largest evangelical churches in the world, Dr. Daniel Dong Won Lee of Global Mission Church. When the church was starting out, Pastor Lee prayed a pretty bold prayer. He had asked God for a tenth of the people living in his region to attend his church. Now, that would be about 30,000 people. At their first service in 1993, 65 people were actually in attendance. Today, Pastor Lee’s prayer has been answered and now that number has grown to over 30,000 active members. The defining mark of these believers is their passion to reach the world for Jesus Christ.

Real World Impact

Britney Christie, The Rev and Be Free Revolution

In today’s Real World Impact segment, we’ll hear how Britney Christie is making an impact with coffee. Britney is the Co-Founder of the Non-Profit organization called, Be Free Revolution. In 2011, she went on a mission trip with her church to Kenya, East Africa. When she got there, she felt a deep connection to the people that she was ministering to. She had heard many horrifying stories of rape, children that weren’t able to understand what love really meant, adults who were stuck in a generational gap of poverty, starvation for education, the list goes on and on. Well, that’s when Britney and a friend of hers, who was also on that same trip, decided that their calling was to make an impact, primarily on the families in Kenya. In addition to the Non-Profit that she started, she had an idea to open a coffee shop called, The Rev. Now, The Rev is not your ordinary espresso bar. It’s actually a retail store that donates directly to education, clothing and food for children in Kenya.
